The Fox Valley Sustainability Network will hold a Green Infrastructure Forum on Wednesday, March 20, at Midwest Groundcovers in St. Charles, IL. We will discuss the programs and municipalities in the Fox Valley that have implemented green infrastructure plans and improvements in their community.

Fox River Summit
Learn about issues important to managing this regional watershed
The Fox River Summit is an annual gathering of organizations, municipalities, citizens, and stakeholders from across the Fox River Watershed. Building partnerships and developing an open dialog about the issues important to the management of the watershed is a key component of the Summit. The program features speakers and presentations highlighting these issues, but it is also an opportunity to celebrate the success stories along the Fox River. The Summit reaches across the state line, just as the Fox River flows, to our neighbors in Illinois. The collaborative effort to develop the bi-state Fox River Water Trail was born out of the Fox River Summit. We strive to continue these collaborative efforts in the watershed, and the Fox River Summit is where we come to share.
The Fox River Summit will be held on March 22, 2019 at Veterans' Terrace 589 Milwaukee Ave, Burlington, WI 53105.

Planting Natives on
Solar Farms Workshop
Workshop to provide instruction how to successfully design and maintain a native plant community on a solar farm
This workshop is designed to bring solar farm developers together with experts in the field of native plantings. Solar developers and landscaping firms will leave this
session equipped with the know-how to be able to successfully design, plant and
maintain a native plant community on their solar farm. This session will help  developers in the preparation of landscape plant lists and monitoring and maintenance plans required by local permitting authorities.
Who should attend: Solar farm developers and owners, landscaping firms, government personnel overseeing solar farm installations, prairie and pollinator enthusiasts, solar energy advocates, anyone who wants to learn how to successfully plant Midwest prairie.

Recycling Event
Kane County to host a recycling event for books and
electronics in St. Charles
Kane County Recycles is hosting a recycling event for ELECTRONICS and BOOKS between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, April 13th, 2019, at the Kane County Branch Court office at 540 S. Randall in St. Charles. That is just north of 38 and south of 64 across from the County Fairgrounds.
Wait time is likely to be less than 5 minutes for this event. There is no need to arrive early!
This event is for electronics and books only. It will NOT include document shredding or paint. The next shredding and paint event will be on Saturday, May 11th.
The cost for recycling television sets and computer monitors, measured diagonally is $25 for screens under 21 inches, and $35 for screens 21 inches and over. You can pay onsite with cash or card.

My Daily Travel is a survey carefully designed to collect data and feedback to help improve the future of transportation in our region.
The information survey participants provide will indicate how roads, public transportation, bike lanes, and sidewalks are used today, and how they can be improved to make travel better in the future. Your input is needed to help us spend our transportation dollars wisely.
Accurate information about how and when people get from place to place in our region will help ensure that transportation funds are spent where they are needed most.

2019 Kane County High Visibility Enforcement (HiVE)
A data driven campaign for reducing roadway deaths and injuries
The Kane County High Visibility Enforcement (HiVE) Campaign Partnership is a data driven approach to reducing deaths and injuries due to crashes on roadways throughout Kane County. Law enforcement agencies will deploy the HiVE campaign on April 26, 2019.
Officers will be visible during all aspects of the deployment; ideally flooding the area to gain the attention of traveling motorists inducing them to drive safely. All deployments are publicized in advance of the HiVE, so motorists are aware of the elevated police presence and enforcement. All data is captured then studied to measure the effectiveness of the program.
Informing the community of the high visibility enforcement is a critical component of HiVE. The goal of the campaign is combining high visibility enforcement and proactive law enforcement to create deterrence and change unsafe roadway behavior. The program goal is designed to be amulti-tiered educational campaign with local, county and state agencies.
